Hardware Design and Build
Generally, it is best for the customer to keep as much of the system as possible as COTS equipment, but through the development of a system for test and control solutions inevitably there will be the need for a custom interface to cater for the end customers hardware.
Vadis can design and build all the custom hardware needed including PCB’s, wiring looms and metalwork providing a one stop shop for all your design requirements. In previous projects we have developed simple relay switch boards, custom communications interfaces such 1553 and LVDS, pulse generation and level shifters.
Along with the standard electrical interfacing, we also have developed a number of customer specific communication links utilising the various FPGA hardware available from National Instruments such as the sbRIO. This approach gives the flexibility, reliability and deterministic timing of an FPGA hardware solution along with the ability to quickly re-configure to provide an update or possibly more flavours of interface depending on the DUT variant.
Since most test systems are delivered within the 19” rack form factor, interface units are often designed into standard 19” units 1U upwards depending on theneed.
All units are CE marked through self-certification with the requirements for CE marking addressed during the design phase. External test house CE marking can be provided on request.
